Edgar’s Bakehouse was founded in an attempt to bring authentic French-style pastries to Augusta. Our menu includes a wide range of coffee, artisanal loaves of bread, pastries and sandwiches. Everything is made from scratch in-house and with the highest attention to detail.

Edgar’s Bakehouse is the latest addition to Edgar’s Hospitality Group, which includes The Pinnacle Club, Edgar’s Grille, Edgar’s Above Broad, Snelling Conference Center and Edgar’s Catering in the Central Savannah River Area, plus Edgar’s Bistro and Anderson Conference Center in Macon. These venues provide experiential learning opportunities for students in the School of Hospitality & Culinary Arts at Helms College, the career college sponsored by Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the Central Savannah River Area and named for Goodwill Industries founder Dr. Edgar J. Helms. In addition to delivering an elevated experience not found elsewhere in the region, Edgar’s Bakehouse is part of an organization providing a hand up for people to develop their God-given gifts through education, work and career development services. Your patronage helps build lives and families – one beverage, one meal, one event and one gift at a time.

Health & Safety

In order to provide a safe environment for our members and staff, we have instituted the following measures at Edgar’s Above Broad:

  • We follow all local and CDC recommended guidelines.
  • Sick employees are prohibited in the workplace.
  • We will have sanitizer stations around the venue for customer use.
  • Surfaces will be sanitized after every meal.
  • Restrooms will be frequently cleaned and sanitized.
  • Tables will not be pre-set and all silverware will be rolled.

All of our coffee and espresso is roasted locally by Ubora Coffee Roasters.

Meet Our Pastry Chef

Michael Romano

As the Executive Pastry Chef for Edgar’s Hospitality Group, Michael Romano will be leading the company’s dessert, bread and coffee programs across all locations. He has spearheaded the opening of Edgar’s Bakehouse, the latest addition to Edgar’s Hospitality Group. Michael is a two-time Food Network champion. Prior to Edgar’s Bakehouse, Michael was the Executive Pastry Chef at The Pierre, a Forbes 5-star, AAA 5-diamond hotel in the heart of New York City. Michael is a seasoned pastry chef with over 15 years of experience spanning from opening his own bakery in New York City to preparing arrays of desserts for events from Google’s corporate holiday parties to the James Beard Gala.
